Programme Overview
Since the impact of strategy consulting is high if there is a symbiotic partnership between a client and consultant, this programme covers the essentials of strategy consulting from both client and  consultant. Participants from both consulting and client firms can switch sides in understanding the nuances of strategy consulting process from both the perspectives. While client firm participants learn about the most effective time to engage with strategy consultants, consultant firm participants will learn about how to prospect for strategy consulting opportunities and effectively assess those proposed to their firm. Participants will gain key insights on strategy consulting to ensure maximum value extraction and learning from consulting engagements. The programme will cover the suitability of consulting for various types of business problems and the ethics and economics of consulting, which  will help in understanding how to create an enabling and effective consulting process. The programme includes applications, discussions and debates on the concepts covered, using practical business cases of both consulting companies and client firms.

Middle-to senior-level managers who wish to hone their decision-making skills while engaging with strategy consultants, as well as clients facing strategy consultants who wish to improve their skills on prospecting for consulting and effectively engaging with client firms. Consultant and client teams are encouraged to participate together to build synergy from the discussions in the programme.

Programme Directors


Ganesh N. Prabhu is Professor of Strategy at IIMB. He did his post-graduation from the Institute of Rural Management Anand and is a Fellow of IIM Ahmedabad. He won the Best Young Teacher Award and Best Research Paper Award from the Association of Indian Management Schools. Since 1996 he teaches strategy courses across programs and offers an elective on new product development in the post-graduate program at IIMB. He has conducted several senior management team visioning workshops and been actively involved in mentoring aspiring entrepreneurs, start-ups and small firms. He was earlier a nominated member of the India Design Council. While at IIMB he has consulted on major turnaround projects and prior to his doctoral studies he was an Executive Assistant to the Managing Director of the Punjab Milk Federation for a year on a major turnaround project.  

 

Thomas Kuruvilla is a member of the Global Board of Arthur D. Little and leads Arthur D. Little’s operations in the Middle East. He is also Head of the Strategy and Organization practice in South Asia and Middle East. He has been with Arthur D. Little for over 20 years and was earlier responsible for Arthur D. Little’s Singapore office. He is a member of the Industry Advisory Panel of S. P. Jain School of Global Management and a part-time faculty at the Indian Institute of Management Udaipur and Great Lakes Institute of Management. He is also a speaker in conferences in the areas of Leadership Development, International Strategy, Turnaround Management and Corporate Venturing.

Thomas has strategy consulting and operational/management experience in the Middle East, Europe and South Asia in the areas of strategy development & implementation, international expansion, economic policy development, merger and acquisitions, and performance management – both in public and private sectors. He has a Bachelors degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Kerala University and MBA from the Melbourne Business School, Australia/Asian Institute of Management, Philippines. Before joining Arthur D. Little he worked with Larsen and Toubro for five years and for a brief period was a Pilot Officer with Indian Air Force.

Thomas Kuruvilla and Ganesh N Prabhu jointly offer a 30 hour elective in Strategy Consulting in the two year Post Graduate Program at IIM Bangalore.    

Programme Fee
INR 1,05,000/- Residential and INR 90,000/- Non -Residential (+ Applicable GST) per person for participants from India and its equivalent in US Dollars for participants from other countries.

Early Bird Discount
Nominations received with payments on or before 09-Nov-23 will be entitled to an early bird Discount of 10%.

Group Discount
Group Discount of 5% percentage can be availed for a group of 3 or more participants when nominations received from the same organization.

Please Note
All enrolments are subject to review and approval by the programme director. Joining Instructions will be sent to the selected candidates 10 days prior the start of the programme.

The programme fee should be received by the Executive Education Office before the programme commencement date.

In case of cancellations, the fee will be refunded only if a request is received at least 15 days prior to the start of the programme.

If a nomination is not accepted,the fee will be refunded to the person/ organisation concerned.

A certificate of participation will be awarded to the participants by IIMB.
