- Provide an overview of the basic principles and issues in manufacturing and develop awareness of how manufacturing can be a source of competitive advantage
- Provide exposure to analytical approaches for decision making and understanding the trade-offs involved, and for building the necessary capabilities

This programme is targeted towards senior and middle level executives in the sourcing, procurement, manufacturing, logistics and marketing functions.
Prof. L S Murty’s areas of Interest are in the fields of operations planning Manufacturing Resources Planning. Enterprise Resources Planning,Constraints Management etc.) and Manufacturing Strategy.After Graduating as a mechanical engineer, Professor Murthy was associated with one of the largest engineering firms in the country. He has obtained his Fellow in Management Doctorate title from the Indian Institute of Management Ahmadabad. During his academic career, Professor Murthy has developed several case studies, taught courses on Operations Management, Quantitative Methods, Research Methodology, Management Information Systems and Corporate Strategy; designed and conducted several executive development programs for various organizations like ABB, BHEL, BPL, Crompton Greaves, HLL, Infosys, National Association of Civil Supplies Corporations, Orissa State Electricity Board, Saint Gobain, SIEMENS, TATA Motors, TCS, Wipro, Etc. He has also been a consultant for companies both in the private and public sectors. He is a certified SAP R/3 Application Consultant - ‘Production Planning’. He has conducted workshops on Case Method for business executives and management School teachers sponsored by the Canadian Consortium of Management Schools.

Prof. Jishnu Hazra’s research and teaching interests are in the areas of Supply Chain Management and Service Operations. He has received research funding from EADS to work on sourcing related issues. He is currently working in the area of sourcing and contracts in the presence of uncertainty and competition. His research papers have appeared in reputed international journals such as European Journal of Operational Research, Production & Operations Management, Computer & Operations Research, IIE Transactions and International Journal of Services Technology and Management. Professor Hazra has received five teaching awards at IIMB for Post Graduate Programme in Management. He received his B.Tech from IIT, Delhi and a Ph.D. in Operations Management from the University of Rochester, USA.
