India and China are the biggest luxury brand markets in Asia. Indians are steadily acquiring means and taste for luxury. We intend to examine the major future trends that will shape the evolution of the luxury business in India. This programme will enhance understanding necessary to manage luxury products and services.

  • It is a program which will address industry trends in luxury products and services and will offer better appreciation of the consumer of luxury and buyer behaviour.
  • The goal is to impart concepts relating to value chain of luxury, pricing decisions and managing the profit potential of luxury.
  • This is not about learning mere concepts but about understanding how to make business decisions relating to creating a luxury brand, differences that exist in managing luxury products and services and execution of a luxury brand, managing channels – direct, joint Ventures or franchise, managing luxury supply chains, licensing and demand management.

A certificate of participation will be awarded to the participants by IIMB.

  • The programme fee should be received by the Executive Education Office before the programme commencement date.
  • In case of cancellations, the fee will be refunded only if a request is received at least 15 days prior to the start of the programme.
  • If a nomination is not accepted, the fee will be refunded to the person/ organisation concerned.

Dr. S Raghunath is a Professor of Corporate Strategy and Policy at the IIM Bangalore. His work has focused on themes in Luxury business in India, such as demand for luxury goods and services in India, recent trends and emerging categories in luxury market including Indianizing the concept of luxury.

He was a Visiting Scholar at the Graduate School of Business, Standford University (1990-1991). He was also a Visiting Professor at INSEAD, France; HEC Paris; EuroMED, Marseilles; University of Buckingham, UK; RMIT School of Business; Melbourne, Australia.

Dr.Raghunath was the Global Director of the International Masters Programme for Practicing Manager (IMPM) in 2010-2011 and has coached many CXOs of Indian companies as well as MNCs.

Dr. Raghunath is the Chairperson for the Centre for Corporate Governance and Citizenship. Also he is the India Chapter Chair of Academy of International Business. He is on the board of governors of ICFAI. He is on the board of Directors of Vijaya Bank, K Two Technologies, Spire Technologies, and National Venture Capital Fund.  He is a Registered Consultant with the Office of Project Services, UNDP, New York. He was on the board of directors of KIOCL and Weir India.

Dr. Manoj Nakra has over forty years of work experience, has headed organizations for the last twenty years, with expertise in manufacturing, retail and distribution, and entrepreneurship. He has led the creation and implementation of ME and Indian strategies for many global luxury and lifestyle brands. He is co-founder of three technology platform companies – www.incubatee.comwww.startupangels.in, and www.caydre.com. Manoj is a Mechanical Engineer from Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, an MBA from Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore, and has a Doctorate from Weatherhead School of Business, Case Western Reserve University, USA.
