The programme will help participants to:

  • Understand the existing concepts and practices in relevant functional areas and emerging challenges in the future.
  • Integrate the functional knowledge and experience, with organizational perspective and therefore appreciate the systemic whole.

Programme Design:

The programme has been designed with the needs of senior level executives in mind.

The business environment is undergoing rapid changes driven by technology, business model innovations, customer preferences, climate change and changing geo-political equations. This is leading to business leaders experiencing intense uncertainty in the strategic direction of the organisation. The AMP is an experiential programme that provides the knowledge and skills needed to make sense of these changes and steer the organisation in the right direction.
The AMP has over the years evolved into a flagship programme for the senior level executives and attracts some of the very best from the corporate sector. The programme also attracts a fair share of entrepreneurs. A strong cohort with diverse talent drawn from various industries provides an exceptional learning environment.
The programme comprises of five focus areas designed to address the key competencies of tomorrow’s leaders.

1. Personal Mastery
2. Functional Leadership
3. Strategic Decision Making
4. Global Business leadership Module delivered by International Business School
5. Strategy and Leadership

Focus Area 1: Personal Mastery
One of the primary requirements of effective leadership is a superior understanding of self and honing one’s personal and emotional resilience. The Personal Mastery would be delivered using experiential learning as a pedagogy including an outbound training programme, reflection sessions, personal development and envisioning. All participants are profiled on a global leadership inventory. The AMP uses a 360DF tool by a leading Global organization. A one-on-one coaching session will follow to provide leadership development inputs to the participant.

Focus Area 2: Functional Leadership
Functional Leadership focuses on advanced topics in various functional areas of management including Finance and Accounting for financial decision-making, understanding and creating value in the organization; Marketing Management and market Research in a digital world, Operations Management to enhance competitiveness of operations; Managing Human Resources, Understanding your people strategy and process; Strategy to stay relevant and address changing market conditions and Advanced Negotiations.

Focus Area 3: Strategic Decision Making
For any professional learning to be effective, it is important that we provide opportunities for the application of the concepts and frameworks towards problem solving.  AMP will provide two opportunities for the participants to put their functional leadership learning to use – a business simulation game with debrief and a project to solve a live, business problem. The business simulation provides challenges from different functional areas of management and is played in groups to enable participants integrate their functional learnings to develop a holistic understanding of the solution to business problems; the group business project would include live projects of importance to any of the participants’ organizations, with other group members acting as internal consultants.

Focus Area 4: Global Business Awareness

Awareness and sensitivity to global business challenges are critical competencies for today's successful leaders. The global business awareness module provides participants with exposure to various forms of internationalization, global/international/ transnational/ multidomestic strategies, creating and managing global supply chains, managing international strategic alliances, locating global activities (including issues relating to offshoring), cross-cultural sensitivity, and issues in international finance (including different reporting standards). This module would be delivered by University of St. Gallen (HSG), Switzerland. Pedagogy would include field visits to organizations, to understand these concepts in action.

Focus Area 5: Strategy and Leadership
The fifth and final area of the AMP synthesizes the learning from the previous focus areas and looks at other boundary-spanning issues that are critical for organizational survival and growth today. To enable effective transfer of learning from cognitive appreciation to implementable action, the Strategy and Leadership area focuses on preparing the participants to reflect on their learnings and experiences, to create their own signature styles of leadership, and define for themselves certain boundaries of action. Issues relating to managing workplace diversity, affirmative action, corporate governance, business ethics, corporate social responsibility, and conservation of natural environment would be the focus of this module. Learning and reflection on these issues would be enabled through interactive sessions, panel discussions, and field visits, invited talks from thought leaders drawn from various fields.
