The Campaign for IIMB
IIM Bangalore aims at nurturing and moulding young leaders and entrepreneurs of tomorrow through holistic, innovative and transformative education. In keeping with the vision of the Institute, and to meet the expectations of a truly global management institute, IIMB is gearing up several areas of its operation in terms of:
Academic Programmes
Faculty and Research
Student Support
Internationalisation
Infrastructure Development
To be amongst the top 5 business schools globally in terms of academics, research and infrastructure, the Institute requires significant resources. These resources are being raised through the Institute's individual initiative in fund-raising.
Nurture IIMB:
We request all alumni, parents, associates and friends to join the Support IIMB Campaign and help us in transforming our aspirations into reality. IIMB's comprehensive fund-raising programme has a variety of initiatives that a donor would like to espouse or support. Such support will enable the Institute to move in a planned and strategic manner towards sustenance, retain its cutting-edge position as leading business school in the country and amongst the top 5 business schools globally.
Ways to Support:
In order to make it easier for you to support IIM Bangalore, we have several options for a Donor:
Cash Donations: A donor may want to donate directly in cash towards a cause he/she may want to support at IIMB.
Transfer of Appreciated Stock/Equities: A donor could donate appreciating stock/equities to IIMB, and not incur tax on long term capital gains. The entire current value of the gift would be exempted from IT as a charitable gift, thereby making it of double benefit to the donor.
Tangible Assets: Donors can opt to gift landed property/real estate, collectibles directly, in the name of family members or in the form of a Trust, and this could also be treated as a named gift. The Institute may decide to sell the property/collectibles at some point of time and use the proceeds for Institute programmes or initiatives. The donor can avoid capitals gains tax by transferring such assets.
Sponsorship: Donors may sponsor events or programmes of the Institute or provide sponsorships for students as per the options provided.
Annual Giving: Annual giving could be one-time collections which are generally made during the annual events organized by the Institute such as Class Reunions or during special fund-raising events.
Endowments: Endowments could be in cash or in kind (property) and since the principal amount would remain intact and expenditure would be from the interest accrued, the system of making endowments always has a greater impact over a longer duration of time.
Corporate Relations: Corporate House/Company-held securities may also be donated and the dual advantages of no capital gains tax and tax exemption as charitable donation would be applicable.
Pledge Support: Alumni may pledge a one-time or a periodic donation to their Alma Mater.
