Academic Interns for Economics and Social Sciences Area

Applications are invited for the position of Academic Intern in the Economics and Social Science Area at the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore for a period of 12 months (extendable upto 3 years), starting around June 2013.  

Job description

Interns would be required to grade MBA level courses in one or more of the aforementioned disciplines as well as provide grading support for a variety of elective courses such as Game Theory, Global Financial Markets, Industrial Organization, and International Macroeconomics. Interns would also get a chance to assist department faculty in ongoing research projects and to get research exposure across a wide range of fields such as Environmental Economics, International Trade, Agricultural Economics, International Monetary Economics, Privatization and Regulation, among others.

Qualifications & Background

The area is looking for persons with good academic credentials who have completed a Bachelors or a Masters in Economics or Political Science. Prospective applicants must have a strong background in one or more of the following fields: Macroeconomics, Microeconomics, Econometrics, Business Law, and Political Science.

Remuneration

Salary would be based on educational qualification and experience of the applicant and would be in the range of Rs. 15,000 to Rs. 20,000 plus an additional house rent allowance of Rs. 3,000.
