The Summer Internship programme conducted after the first year also attracts an equally overwhelming response from the corporate world. Students get an opportunity to work closely with companies and develop a long term perspective with regards to their career choices. Companies too view the summer internships as a means to engage students on some productive short term assignments as well as evaluate them for the purpose of giving them pre-placement offers.

Highlights of Final Placements 2012

Final Placements at IIM Bangalore saw 363 PGP students of Class of 2012 getting 423 offers from 126 companies. Of these, 206 offers were made during the final placements, 124 offers (for students with more than 22 months of work experience) during lateral placements and the remaining 93 were Pre-Placement offers. A total of 43 overseas offers were made of which 41 were accepted. These offers were made for Hong Kong, Singapore, Dubai, London, Paris, New Jersey, Dallas, Seoul and Switzerland locations.

Swiss Investment Bank UBS, which recruited exclusively from IIM Bangalore, offered Equities Derivatives Trading profile based out of Hong Kong. Private equity giant The Blackstone Group (London) and consulting giant Arthur D Little (Dubai) also recruited exclusively from IIMB. Duferco Group offered its coveted metal trading profile based out of Lugano, Switzerland - only such offer made across IIMs. Capital One recruited two students for their Dallas office.

IIMB is amongst the few leading Indian B-Schools that achieved 100% placement for the entire batch in the Final Placement season of 2012.
