Distinctive Features of the Programme

Thought, Action and Leadership form the key drivers for the EPGP.  This is reflected in a number of distinctive features in the programme.

Innovative Content: The EPGP has a distinct focus on the leadership skills essential for effective senior managers.  The curriculum is adapted from best-practices in industry and is organized around a series of core courses and electives to provide a solid foundation of key management theory and practice.  Themes drawn from the realm of the social sciences have been integrated into the programme in a structured manner leading to a nuanced, multi-layered understanding of management issues.  Classroom teaching is supplemented with extensive case analysis as well as an optional Comprehensive Project which offers students the possibility to integrate learning from the programme and apply it to a real management problem or an impending business opportunity.

International Immersion: A focus on emerging markets is at the core of the EPGP, highlighted by an international immersion module which includes an experiential two-week study tour to an emerging economy like Brazil, South Africa or China, or a developed one in the Asian region like South Korea, in partnership with a leading business school in the host country.  The intensive analysis, reflection and classroom discussion following the visit enables students to broaden their understanding of an increasingly globalized business environment.

Seminar Series: The EPGP incorporates a seminar series, anchored by experts and practitioners in diverse fields such as liberal arts, sociology, NGOs, sports, media and international development, as well as prominent members of the corporate world.  The broad range of ideas and perspectives from both inside and outside the world of management provides a fertile ground for holistic leadership development.

Access to IIMB Resources:  A key advantage of the EPGP lies in having access to all the resources of IIMB, including being able to choose from a broad range of electives and attend classes being held in other Institute programmes such as the two year PGP, the PGSEM and the PGPPM, each offering special topics of study.
