Pedagogy

Post Graduate Programme (PGP)
On an average, a student graduating from the Institute would have carried out 15 projects, usually live, involving industry interaction and support. The Post Graduate Programme lasts six trimesters, spread over two years, with a summer project in between the two years. The first year students are exposed to basic concepts in the areas of Marketing, Finance, Quantitative Methods, Operations, Behavioral Sciences and Strategy through the core courses. These lay the foundations for all the functional areas of management and help develop problem-solving skills. In the second year, students choose from a range of electives to specialize in functional areas of their interest. There is greater emphasis on the application of knowledge gained, in the form of projects, group exercises and case discussions. Guest lectures supplement regular course work and students are encouraged to do projects on 'Contemporary Concerns' under the guidance of faculty.
Executive Post Graduate Programme (EPGP)
The fourteen core courses spanning three terms lay the foundation to develop a holistic business perspective in areas such as finance, human resources, strategy, marketing, operations, economics, and leadership. Structured to enhance decision making capabilities, the courses are built on strong analytical frameworks. The delivery mode is a fine blend of lectures, case studies and project work/group discussions.
Leveraging on the diversity of the class, the electives have been designed to build the breadth and depth of business management perspectives beyond core courses. The eighteen electives, specifically tailored for experienced professionals, covering advanced topics in several management disciplines, give the student community an opportunity to build on their experience, interests and aspirations.
The EPGP programme includes an International Immersion module which is designed to give participants insights into the emerging economies such as China, Russia, Brazil and South Africa. The insights include the economic, social and cultural aspects of the identified country.
