Educational leadership is increasingly becoming complex and facing unprecedented challenges. Managing change and improvement is one of the most complex tasks of leadership as they have to help educators, students, parents and other stakeholders build effective teams by developing new organizational structures and creating a shared vision that focuses on authentic student learning. Such inspired and informed leadership is critical to the success of educational institutions. Realizing this important need, a Three-day International Conference on Educational Leadership was organized by IIMB during January 5-7, 2009 at the IIMB campus. The Conference was coordinated by Professor S Nayana Tara and Professor L Prasad.
The Conference was attended by several national and international delegates comprising educational administrators, researchers, educational experts including a vice chancellor, university registrar among others. Several sessions were held during the three days with participants presenting their papers. Some of the major themes covered in these sessions included New Ways of Approaching Leadership, Empirical Research on Educational Leadership, Industry –Academia Interface, Leadership Challenges, and Leadership: Elementary & Secondary Education, among others.
As part of the Conference, Poster Presentations were made by the participants during all the three days with major themes including K-12 Schools- Education Excellence in the Flat World, Strategic Education Model of an Education Enterprise, Achievement in Education through Rejuvenated Leadership and Effective Cluster System from the Industries’ Perspectives aiming for Scholastic Endeavours, Educational Leadership-Challenges Ahead, among others
