Volume 21, Number 3 Article by V Ravi Anshuman September, 2009
Editorial :
It is my pleasure to bring you the third quarterly issue of this year. This issue covers a gamut of topics in the form of articles and feature presentations. Alliances, mergers and acquisitions are strategic imperatives, and we feature a model that maps the development of trust and commitment in strategic alliances, and a comparative study of mergers and acquisitions in wealth creation. A study comparing Web and television advertisements finds them both equally 'entertaining' and 'irritating', while an empirical study of investment bank prestige and IPO underpricing reveals an inverse relationship between investment bank prestige and underprice.
Prof D V R Seshadri talks to Chris Rao, Vice President and Board Member, Goodrich India, on how he combined his entrepreneurial and intrapreneurial skills and instincts to lead this Indian subsidiary of a US-based multinational from a loss-making unit to a leading contender in the country's fast-developing aerospace industry. Prof Arnab Mukherji leads the Round Table Discussion with a distinguished panel on the demographic changes in India in the last few decades and their impact on the public health system.
Along with my co-chairs Prof Mukta Kulkarni and Prof Vasanthi Srinivasan, I look forward to your participation in the IMR Conference 2010 on Global Competitiveness through Human Resource Management, where we will bring you an interesting mix of paper presentations and practitioner sessions
Thank you
V Ravi Anshuman
