NS Raghavan Centre for Entrepreneurial Learning (NSRCEL)

Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB) is looking for applications for a faculty position in Entrepreneurship at the NS Raghavan Centre for Entrepreneurial Learning (NSRCEL).

Appointments at a more senior level (Associate or Full Professor) may be considered depending on qualifications and experience. For an associate / full professor appointment, candidates must have a PhD (in Entrepreneurship, Strategy, OB, Economics, Sociology or Anthropology) a reputation for making high quality contributions to top tier journals, and evidence of teaching excellence. For an appointment at the assistant professor level, candidates must have, or be close to completing, a PhD in an appropriate field, with demonstrated potential to publish top-level research and achieve teaching excellence; appointment in the latter case will be contingent upon the completion of the PhD by an agreed-upon date. 

Responsibilities include teaching at the graduate and PhD levels, conducting and publishing research in top tier journals, and service to the institute's academic activities. Application packages should include curriculum vitae, samples of research, any available teaching ratings, and names of three referees who have been asked to send confidential letters of assessment.

The Nadathur S. Raghavan Center for Entrepreneurial Learning was set up in March 2002 to synergise with IIMB's focus on entrepreneurial studies. The Centre facilitates business growth by combining academic research with practical experiences. Entrepreneurial energy is facilitated by the IIMB's academic community and industry interfaces thus channelizing the growth of small business ideas to implementation.

Production & Operations Management Area

The Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB), a leading graduate school of management in Asia, has over hundred full time faculty, more than 1200 students across various programmes and a significant executive education activity. IIMB seeks candidates with a strong commitment to high quality research and teaching in Operations Research, Operations and Technology Management, Statistics and Information Systems. IIMB provides an opportunity to work closely with industry and government through its various related centres such as Centre for Supply Chain Management, Centre for IT and Software Management and Centre for Public Policy (which includes health care, transportation, energy etc.) and a Big Data initiative that supports empirical research.

We invite applications for faculty positions at all levels. Candidates at the Assistant Professor level must demonstrate capability for carrying high quality research and should have completed or be in the final stages of completing their PhD. Associate Professors should have a track record of research and teaching. Professors are additionally expected to provide academic leadership at the Institute.  Candidates would be expected to contribute to the Institute's Post Graduate (MBA), Doctoral and Executive Programmes.

The Economics and Social Sciences (ESS) area at IIMB seeks candidates at the level of Assistant Professors with strong commitment to high quality research and teaching in the following areas.

Macroeconomics

F3 - International Finance
F4 - Macroeconomic Aspects of International Trade and Finance
G  - Financial Economics

Research in all areas of macroeconomics will be considered, including  monetary economics, economic growth, international macroeconomics or applied macroeconomics.

Microeconomics

JEL Classifications
D - Microeconomics
D6- Welfare Economics and Social Choice Theory
L - Industrial organization
C5-  Econometric Modeling

The candidate should demonstrate a strong background in microeconomic theory, with research interests that include formulation and design of theoretical and analytical models and its translation to empirical contexts. This includes econometric modeling as well.

Candidates from other fields of economics relevant to business studies are also encouraged to apply.
